Please do not send confidential or sensitive personal information unless it is necessary and we have agreed on an appropriate way to receive it.
3. How we use personal data
We may use personal data to:

4. Legal grounds
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, we process personal data where:
- Processing is necessary to take steps at your request or perform a contract;
- We must comply with a legal obligation;
- We have a legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving our business and services, provided that your rights do not override that interest; or
- You have provided consent, where consent is required.
You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that took place before withdrawal.
5. Website, analytics and cookies
Our public website is primarily a static informational website. We do not use advertising cookies, sell visitor information or use behavioural advertising. We do not currently use third-party analytics to follow visitors across websites.
Our hosting and security providers may process limited technical information to deliver the website, prevent abuse and maintain its security and availability. If we introduce optional analytics or other technologies requiring consent, we will update this notice and request consent where legally required.
6. Consultancy and client projects
During a consultancy or software-development engagement, Brasant may receive access to systems, documentation or datasets belonging to a client. Where required, the parties will enter into a data processing agreement defining their respective responsibilities.
7. Brasant products
Products operated by Brasant may process additional information, such as account credentials, profile information, user-provided content or application activity. Where a product involves processing not fully described here, it will provide additional privacy information explaining what it collects, why it is collected, how long it is retained and how users can exercise their rights.
Passwords, where used, are stored in hashed form rather than as readable text.
8. Service providers and disclosure
We may use trusted providers for hosting, infrastructure, authentication, communications, accounting and professional advice. They may process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide their services and are subject to applicable contractual or legal obligations.
We may also disclose information where required by law, a competent authority or a court, or where reasonably necessary to protect our rights, systems or users. We do not sell personal data.
9. International transfers
Some technology providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we use an appropriate legal mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another safeguard permitted under applicable data-protection law.
10. Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. The applicable period depends on the nature of the information and may be affected by contractual, tax, accounting, security or legal requirements. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it where reasonably possible.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss and misuse. No internet-based service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If you believe you have found a security issue affecting a Brasant service, please contact info@brasant.com.
